Once you get past the fact that Frodo Baggins is playing a football hooligan, Green Street is a great little addition to its rather sparse genre. Whilst no ID, its got a good British supporting cast including Marc Warren, Charlie Hunnam and Rafe Spall. Unusually for a male dominated film about a male dominated subject its directed by a woman Lexi Alexander which was rare at the time. She does a grand job and would step up a couple of years later to make the underrated Punisher: War Zone proving she can handle action and violence with the best of them with this film being no fluke.
Followed by two DTV sequels, Green Street is a bit dated now but its still pretty watchable as long as you can believe a hobbit can hold his own against hardened nutters.
