Money in the Bank 2016

This years MITB PPV was known as the show that WWE finally got the balls to give Dean Ambrose a run with the WWE title, of course I’m not giving much away as it is widely known and the DVD cover reveals Ambrose’s victory.

Going in to the event saw Seth Rollins challenge Roman Reigns for his WWE title, Rollins had a chip on his shoulder as he had to vacate the title due to injury and unhappy that Reigns of all people had ‘his’ title.  The New Day had to see off challenges from three other teams in a Fatal Four Way title match.  Facing them was Gallows and Anderson, The Vaudevillains and Enzo and Big Cass.  Baron Corbin once again fought Dolph Ziggler in their never ending series of matches.  I like Corbin and can see big things for the lad if used correctly.  A women’s tag match was next with Charlotte and her protege Dana Brooke taking on Natalya and Becky Lynch.  This match had a twist in the tail and it didn’t bode well for Becky.

Apollo Crews took on Sheamus next.  Again, I like Apollo who has a great look and a scarily agile repertoire for a man of his size.  AJ Styles took on John Cena next, a match I was looking forward to greatly and the ending was great as it was an the expense of Cena.  The MITB Ladder match was a hotly contested affair Between Ambrose, Del Rio, Jericho, Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.  The end result would have implications later on in the event.  Rusev also defended his beloved US title against Titus O’Neil.

The Under-Card (kick off show) had The Golden Truth take on Breezango.  Purely a comedy match because of the sunburn Breezango suffered thanks to The Golden Truth.  It was actually really funny and shows that Ron Killings and Dustin Runnels are bloody good comedians.  The Lucha Dragons also squared off against The Dudley Boyz as the second kick off match.

MITB 2016 was a pretty decent PPV with a great ending and some good matches as well.  Of course things changed as soon as a certain Wellness Policy violation was announced and that moved swiftly onto the build up for Battleground.
