Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

After the success of the first two films SyFy and B Movie rip-off specialists The Asylum have made poor old Fin Shepard and his family’s life hell again with the return of another Sharknado.  Fin is due to get a award from the President of the United States but unfortunately whilst in Washington DC another sharknado hits.  Fin’s wife April is in Florida with her Mother (Bo Derek) and are spending the day at Universal Studios.  Fin needs to get to Orlando and whilst on route bumps into Nova (from the first movie) and her new sidekick.  Suddenly, a Sharknado hits Daytona and soon enough makes it’s way over to Orlando.  Fin has to save the day again and with the help of his NASA trained Dad (The Hoff) end the Sharknado once and for all.

Sharknado 3 is possibly even more stupid and gormless then the previous two.  It features an outrageous amount of celebrity cameos including Chris Jericho, Lou Ferrigno, George R. R. Martin and those talentless twits Jedward.  The CGI effects are as usual a bit ropey but plenty of people bite the dust and the whole production is without a doubt taking the piss out of itself.

The setting at Universal Studios is a nice change from a city and as I’ve been there many times it’s nice to see the sights.  Although seeing that SyFy is part of the NBC Universal empire, they probably got a good deal filming there.  Sharknado 3 is absolute rubbish of the highest order and immensely entertaining but like the others (and most of Asylum’s output) don’t take it seriously.
