Wrestlemania 31

The annual Wrestlemania’s just seem to get bigger every year and this one was no exception.  Dogged a little with controversy around the fans reaction to Roman Reigns taking on WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, how could McMahon and company pull this one off?

We all know the ending of the main event with a certain Mr. Seth Rollins cashing in his MITB contract but the Lesnar/Reigns main event was actually very good with both them selling each other well.  The US bout between Cena and Rusev was unfortunately predictable but Rusev’s entrance with his tank was cool and got the crowd reacting accordingly.  The Ladder match for the IC belt very entertaining with a certain WRESTLER getting another Wrestlemania moment.  Rollins took on Randy Orton as well in a seperate fight from his cash-in, whilst we also saw HHH meet Sting with assorted legends getting involved as well.  Considering the history and the importance of Sting finally coming to WWE, I felt it could have been better.  However considering the age of the WCW icon and HHH is effectively a part-timer I still enjoyed it.

In other matches we got to see AJ Lee in her last big match before her retirement, this lady will surely be missed.  However we still have Paige and Nattie Neidhart in the Divas division who can wrestle.  The Undertaker appeared after a year to fight Husky Harri…. sorry, Bray Wyatt, not the best match in the world but it was brilliant to see Mark Callaway looking well after that on-line video last year following his concussion.  The Andre the Giant Battle Royal was unfortunately relegated to the pre-show but it is here as an ‘extra’ along with the Tag Team title bout.

The very emotional HOF ceremony is on the extras with the usual blu-ray exclusives.  My only complaint with the whole event was the unneccessary music interlude which went on too long and as much as I love Dwayne Johnson his segment with Stephanie McMahon and Ronda Rousey did drag a bit, although it was very funny.  Here’s hoping that this does lead to something along the road.

Pretty much a done deal with picking this one up and with well over 8 hours of content, tremendous value.
